ActiveGuard Mattress Liners are made by Allergy Technologies to combat bed bugs and dust mites. The ActiveGuard Mattress Liner makes it easy to treat various types of mattresses without using chemical sprays. The liner is treated with the active ingredient, permethrin that controls adult and juvenile bed bugs. It is safe, odorless, simple to use, and does not affect the comfort of the mattress. When combating dust mites and bed bugs, the ActiveGuard Mattress Liner provides up to 2 years of protection.
Tools Needed
There are no tools needed for placing an ActiveGuard Mattress Liner over a mattress, sofa, or box spring. A vacuum cleaner is needed to clean the mattresses before and after using the liner.
How to Use
- Step 1: ActiveGuard Mattress Liners can be placed on the mattress before bed bug activity is evident. If bed bugs have already infiltrated the mattress, remove the bedding and either sanitize or throw away and replace it.
- Step 2: Place the correct size ActiveGuard Mattress Liner over the bare mattress and make sure it fits tight over the corners and edges. It is suggested to also cover the box spring with a liner.
- Step 3: Place a mattress pad or other type of mattress cover on the ActiveGuard Mattress Liner.
- Step 4: If the ActiveGuard Mattress Liner is being used to control dust mites, within 8 weeks, remove the liner and vacuum the bedding with the room well ventilated and the place the liner back on the mattress. When treating for bed bugs, the liner can stay on the mattress while vacuuming the room. Once installed, leave the mattress liner undisturbed for two years.
Where to Use
ActiveGuard Mattress Liners can be used on mattresses, box springs, and sofa beds, and air mattresses to control for bed bugs and dust mites. It is great for use in homes, hotels, and other areas where many people frequent.

Sleeping and breathing on a pesticide mattress protector seems rather scary - how safe are these to sleep on?
A shopper on Jun 30, 2018
BEST ANSWER: When setting up the ActiveGuard Mattress Liner pull down on the edges of the liner to ensure a tight fit against bedding. Place another surface such as mattress pad, barrier encasement or bottom sheet over the mattress liner. This will keep your skin away from the actual liner.

Do you need to put on mattress and box springs both? Also they say they fit twin and XL twin but sizes say 75 long while XL is 80 long. Will this fit the XL twin?
Sunshine 13 on Jul 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I bought one for a Queen bed size so don't know about Twins. If the XL twin is larger than the size it quotes then it may not fit. It does not surround the whole mattress, so part of the bottom in not covered. It stretches so it may fit the larger XL. I used it on my box springs because you can't get pesticide inside it. I used a $20 bed bug mattress cover from Wal mart for the main mattress. So far no bed bugs since. I also have climb ups/interceptors on the bed legs.

BEST ANSWER: Depends on your preference, but ActiveGuard Mattress Liner- Kills Bed Bugs works as a preventative and control measure against bed bugs, dust mites, and protection against stains. If you are dealing with either of these pests, you will still need to perform other control measures as listed in our DIY guides, especially if it is bed bugs. https://www.solutionsstores.com/dust-mite-control https://www.solutionsstores.com/bed-bug-control

if buying one for my bottom box spring question can i put it on top of my Box spring which has a sealed zipper incasement i bought to cover the box spring ? or does the bottom box spring need to have the sealed .incasement removed before putting your Mattress liner that kills bed bugs on?
Ron on Feb 6, 2023
BEST ANSWER: ActiveGuard Mattress Liner- Kills Bed Bugs is only intended for the mattress. If you buy a box spring encasement then you need to contact the manufacturer for that product for that precise specification. You may use the ActiveGuard Mattress Liner- Kills Bed Bugs and a box spring encasement, since they both will be covering a separate item.

Is this permethrin a health problem for people or pets?
Pat S on Jul 27, 2020
BEST ANSWER: We did not encounter any problems with these covers with us or our pets. We only put them on the box spring though so we weren't actually in contact with them. We used them in conjunction with a comprehensive extermination plan. They gave us peace of mind so we could sleep again after this horrifying experience.

Does the activeguard liner go on top or bottom of th mattress?
A shopper on Feb 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Activeguard mattress liner would be applied to the top of the mattress. After placing the mattress liner make sure to add another surface over the liner. We can use a mattress pad or a mattress encasement. This barrier will keep the liner out of direct contact with our skin. Make sure to use gloves when applying the liner and wash your hands after placing the liner on the mattress.

Are you "supposed" to invert the boxspring after installing the liner (as shown in the video) or was that just done for illustrative purposes? And unless there is a powerful infestation, wouldn't one liner covering the boxspring kill most resident bedbugs for that bed set?
